evoMOBILE consists of several
parts managing different aspects of the GPS / GPRS / SMS technologies.
The parts can be summarised as :
- a component on the mobile device to
receive GPS data
- a component on the device to handle
mapping and data overlays, and provide
some functionality for host applications.
- a toolkit to upload / download mapping
and other information between a laptop/
desktop computer and the device
- a skeleton GIS system on a laptop/
desktop computer to organise files
ready for uploading to the device.
evoGPS plug-in is a generic service which gathers GPS data and
transmits location information over GSM by GPRS and/or SMS. The service
populates a database on-board the device.
This service will also detect a wireless LAN proximity, authenticate and upload
the database to a more permanent server’s central database.
evoMobileGIS – an application
which monitors the local database and uses on-board mapping to show location and
track information logged. It can be set to view the location as GPS data is
received.
The application allows the general use of mapping, utilising Post Code,
House Number, Village and Town gazetteers to the convenience of the User.
The application will also link, using GPRS connections, to a web site via URL
and monitor other device locations
logged into a central database which has been populated through evoMOBILE
services or other compatible systems.
evoPDA - an application which is designed for survey work in the field, and
utilises our mobile components. The full package delivers a mini-GIS
installation for a laptop or desktop computer for uploading / downloading
information to the device.
evoTRAKKER is a collection of components which together provide
tracking facilities for suitable devices.
The system includes laptop/desktop application modules, internet application
modules, skeleton but fully functional web-site installation files and a GIS
installation based on our e-volutionGIS packages which is deployed on an
internet accessible server.
